Authorities responded to an aviation incident at Bruckner Hill Road, near Boonah, in the Scenic Rim, about midday on Sunday.
The two men on board the plane were treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics but died at the scene.
Early investigations indicate the plane was returning to Boonah Airfield.
Police remain at the scene and are liaising with the men's families.
"We wish their families every possible amount of support that can be provided to them at this time," Acting Inspector Kerry Olsen told reporters in Boonah on Sunday.
Police are appealing for any witnesses with CCTV or dash-cam footage of planes flying in the Boonah area to come forward.
